Supervised Contact

‘Supervised contact is when a child spends time with someone close to them who they do not live with (usually a parent or other family member). It may be overseen by a professional or family member. Contact may be supervised to make sure that the child is safe, and the contact is in their best interests’.
Family Integrated services is one of the leading organizations that provides supervised contact sessions. Family Integrated services is a floating service; therefore, supervised contacts occur in the community by making use of public/private spaces to supervise contact. In some instances, there can be an extra charge should contact occur in a space where there is a fee.
Family Integrated services supports the physical safety and mental wellbeing of the child when in contact with his parent/carer who does not reside with the child or children. Family Integrated services assist parents, family members to reconnect with the child or children after a significant amount has lapsed. Family Integrated services work with parents to create and maintain relationships with their child or children.
Family Integrated services makes use of qualified experienced social workers, the social workers have vast experience in child protection services and court work. Family Integrated services ensures that all staff that work with children have a DBS check.
Referrals will usually be made by the local authority, another child contact centre, a court, CAFCASS officer or by a self-referral. Supervised contact is charged at an hourly rate, and this includes one report to the paying parent. Additional reports to other recipients are charged at a minimal fee.
